🛑 🆘URGENT! 2 INJURED BUNS ON DEATH ROW (ORANGE ALERT!) @EAST VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER‼️ FOSTERS & SPONSORS NEEDED TO HELP US PULL THEM TO SAFETY‼️ If they both make it alive, they will look beautiful together. 1️⃣ ROCKY (F)—(We will name her Scheherazade if she becomes ours!) JUMPED OUT OF a volunteer's ARMS & LANDED ON THE FLOOR. I mean, who's in charge of these new volunteers at the city shelter? Why are they allowed to pick up UNFIXED RUMBUNCTIOUS rabbits and carry them around? Seriously messed up!! And now the bunny must pay the price for this idiotic and utterly preventable incident? She has a DISLOCATED RIGHT HIP & NEEDS A $3,000 FEMORAL HEAD EXCISION SURGERY! In order to pull off this almost X-Mas Miracle, we need a TRANSPORTER, FOSTER, & SURGERY FUNDS.

2️⃣ BUBBLES (M) - (We named him SULTAN 👑. He's ours!) He was ALERTED earlier for HEMATOMA, and we were able to pull him from the shelter and take him to our vet, where he underwent EAR & NEUTER SURGERY and is currently HOSPITALIZED. His initial treatment was $1,500. He will need another surgery soon. So, we're hoping to raise his total to $3,000. 📍CAN ANYONE FOSTER HIM? It would save us a pretty penny! He's currently on 5 meds!

📍DOCTOR'S NOTES: "Right ear 👂 very thickened & scarred from previous hematoma & inadequate treatment. Nose watery. Purulent otitis. Castration & attempt to repair ear; was able to remove some of the scar tissue. The ear will remain very thickened. If circulation is damaged, he may require pinna removal. Sutures for 4 weeks."

🛑URGENT THANKSGIVING PLEA‼️

Our vet bill hit the ceiling again and is currently at $35K. This morning, we dropped off 8 foster buns to our vet—6 for rechecks/molar trims and 2 we picked up from the West LA Shelter last night. We anticipate hitting the $37K ceiling today, so it’s time for BWF’s all-important ANNUAL DONATION DRIVE! IF EVERYONE HERE SPARED $5 , WE WOULD PAY OFF THE VET BILL & SOME!

You're looking at the sweet, angelic little face of HAKU the day she was returned to BWF. She & her husbun TOTORO were rescued, adopted, & RETURNED TWICE to BWF. This last return was brutal. The adopter had NO SHAME dropping her off in this state! She is at the vet now and needs all our support!

Haku is only ONE of the 250+ fosters in our care! At BWF, we put our hearts and souls into every rabbit we rescue, but we cannot do it alone! We have been rescuing 1000-1500 a year since 2008! Our volunteers & fosters are exhausted. The returns are coming weekly, and we're hurting because we cannot save them all! But we’re not giving up. We are STILL fighting a good fight. In these challenging times, those of us who still gather during the BWF Adoption Events to experience our shared humanity—to laugh, cry, and expand our hearts and minds—are genuinely the torchbearers of the rescue community!

😢We are angry, disgusted, and heartbroken! These rabbits are in direct sun and are being fed the ant-infested dry bread. This God-forsaken place is in LA County, and the rabbits are anguishing outdoors, suffering high temperatures and mites' infestation. After several litters, we were told that the males had been let go to be ravaged, dismembered, and feasted on by predators. However, some youngsters appear to be males. If they are not fixed ASAP, more babies will come, and tragedy will ensue. We'd sincerely appreciate any help you can offer this significant effort for these poor, blameless victims.
