Deceived By A Fake Foster

‼️LOS ANGELES: GENUINE foster needed for Nutmeg and babies. This is a do-over foster search in response to the first foster revealing ill intentions after the fact that were previously Unbeknownst to BWF and necessitated immediate termination of fostering.

BWF was appalled to realize the person's willful lies of long-term fostering on a legal document in order to obtain BWF foster approval of mom & babies; then discovering that immediately upon receiving the foster bunnies, she posted them to public social media seeking the foster bunnies' re-homing; *rehoming for AFTER two months with her, as she needed their babyhood to exploit for her own gain. Our community is outraged...

Her bait-and-switch deception and exploitative marketing involving the foster bunnies is despicable. Foster bunnies are not props for self-promotion among online content creators. The bunnies in the rescue and bunnies awaiting our efforts all suffer for the time spent dealing with the chaotic disruption by someone who lied to get her hands on Nutmeg and her babies, but never intended to fulfill her long-term foster promise to them.

==========
Serious Foster Inquiries Only. We need are serious foster caregiver hopefuls to please email us without delay at info@bunnyworldfoundation.org with the subject: "I AM SERIOUS ABOUT NUTMEG AND BABIES"

Kindly be advised that BWF does not exist for current or aspiring online "creators"/"influencers" to manipulate the acquisition of baby bunnies for use as content. Do not request fostering if motivated by sharing "cute" images/videos of baby bunnies or "status breed" bunnies.

BWF strongly opposes the online circulation of baby bunny images/videos unless strictly in the context of rescue emergencies, rescue updates, or education regarding spay/neuter and the boycotting of all breeding, buying, selling, and domestic rabbit exploitation of any kind. The babies are NEVER promoted as "aww cute," as that is counterintuitive to the entire mission of domestic rabbit rescue.

Do not apply if motivated to feature baby bunnies as click-bate, etc., or wishing to maximize the foster role to generate donations of money or supplies, or in connection with selling merchandise or services. This world is full of those wishing to monetize cute bunnies, and it's a sad fact of life that we must protect the foster bunnies from that exploitation.

PLEASE DO apply to foster this sweet little mother and her babies if you DO NOT care one bit about proclaiming yourself a hero for helping them... but are genuinely interested in simply giving them a break. They struggle to survive a minefield of hazards caused by human ego and frivolity. These poor bunnies just need a quiet corner in a loving home with someone who prioritizes what THEY need and not what can be greedily gained from their cuteness.

BWF is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue with no facility and must rely on legally-binding agreements to protect the bunnies to the extent of their limits. It is not acceptable to lie on a foster or adoption agreement. Hoping to hear from someone who can cut through the nonsense and just be of help to those whose lives are placed in their hands.
Whoever you are, thank you in advance.
~BWF Volunteers

P.S. -- All who are discouraging fostering with BWF and circulating smear campaigns... you're not hurting the volunteers. You're hurting the bunnies who will be euthanized due to the sabotage aimed at erasing the support of the ever-flowing waves of bunnies desperate for our help. We don't see the flow of potential fosters that are poisoned against BWF going elsewhere to help bunnies. If they were, the shelters would be empty of in-need bunnies by now. If your goal is to cripple this rescue, the humans will just have a ton of free time back in their lives. If you want to hurt the humans in this rescue, giving us our free time back is not the way to do it.

Please help -- Valerie deserves a chance!

Please help -- Valerie deserves a chance! This poor baby was left as a "stray" at South L.A. Shelter with shocking injuries -- two broken hind legs bent outwards with exposed desiccated bones. Among other things, she was underweight, and had severe ear mites with heavily encrusted Pinna Perichondritis. We're in desperate need of funds to help this precious 8-mo-old, 3Lb little girl who we rescued from EXTREME ORANGE ALERT -- she was to be put to sleep if we didn't get her immediately.

We rushed Valerie to the hospital, where she's been ever since. We've consulted with an 'Orthopedic Surgeon' who had this to say:

"Upon examining Valerie's case -- she seems very active and happy -- disabled, but functional. Valerie has two prominent bones where the skin has eroded around the bone. Advised to cut 2-3 inches of the infected area, and to clean the wounds. To rod the legs would be a disaster... less is more, as the surgery will already be high-risk."

Dr. Roberts:

"So far, Valerie's bill is at $1,168.60 -- with potentially more than $3,700.00 for her surgery and ongoing care. The plan is to remove the infected tissue on her right hind leg, and let her ambulate like she has been doing. Then amputate slightly below the left side knee, and see if she's able to get around without traumatizing the stump. There is a chance she might require further surgery later on if she exhibits having mobility issues with the stumps."

Our current Northwood Animal Hospital invoice - (which doesn't yet include the bills for Valerie, Woodly, and Mimi) - is $12,749.23 -- and Valerie alone will add more than $4,800.00 to that. After the severity of miserable hardships and injuries this poor soul has endured and survived, we are committed to doing everything in our power to give Valerie a new life of happiness, proper care, and so much love she won't know what to do with herself.

Please consider helping toward Valerie's new life... as well as our numerous ill and injured rescued bunnies receiving medical care.

We have the "Donate" button... but here are various options if you'd like to chip-in... any amount is wonderful -- it all adds up.

Lost & Found Resources: Petco Love Lost

https://support.partners.petcolove.org/hc/en-us/articles/4549050444691-Partner-Guide-for-Website-Presence

Petco Love is on a mission to reunite lost pets with their families by creating a single, central, national lost and found pet search.  The Petco Love Lost database uses facial recognition technology to help reunite lost pets with their families should they ever go missing. It’s free and easy to use for animal welfare professionals, and unlike shelter software, pet parents, lost pet advocates, and good neighbors can use it too.
